Abner's knitting lessons...

So, you wanna' learn how to knit? Don't ask me, I'm learning right here. I bought the above kit. $9.99 at Michaels. Great, add yarn and a few crochet hooks and I'm ready.

My intention is to make this scarf. Turns out though that when you look at the instructions, the kit comes with the wrong size needles. Oh well, I'll give it a shot anyway.  So, I start on the book and quickly find I'm all thumbs. I look on the internet and found a site with cool videos to learn how to knit and I'm casting on in no time flat!

My cast ons.. I'm so happy! On to knitting.. The video is great for that too.

Knit stitch only. On to purling. Hey, the site with the videos works to teach me that rapidly too.

I'm doing a stockinette stitch now. Trouble discovers my new project...

What I've learned so far... If you are going to learn to knit, do NOT pick Chenille yarn as a starting project. As a second project it would have been fine, but it is not good for seeing if you are doing it right.
